Muscat College Welcomes the Team for the Initiative of Health-Promoting Higher Education Institutions in the Sultanate of Oman

This initiative is part of the national efforts to promote health and well-being within university environments, aligning with Oman Vision 2040, which emphasizes quality of life and the development of human capital. The initiative aims to create educational environments that support both physical and mental health through integrated components and executive plans that address various health-related aspects within higher education institutions.

During the meeting, several important points were discussed, including:

  1. Promoting a culture of health and well-being among students, faculty, and administrative staff.
  2. Providing comprehensive health and psychological services within the university campus.
  3. Creating supportive educational environments that contribute to the prevention of chronic diseases and promote healthy lifestyles.
  4. Empowering students to become health ambassadors in their communities.
  5. Supporting research and studies related to the health of university youth.

Muscat College is considered one of the institutions that has shown great interest in raising awareness and promoting health in the workplace. In this context, a special team composed of students and administrative staff was formed under the name “Stay Aware.”

Higher education institutions are fundamental pillars in community development. Their roles go beyond education and scientific research to also include promoting health and well-being for members of the university community in the Sultanate of Oman. The concept of “Health-Promoting Institutions” is gaining increasing importance, in line with the directions of Oman Vision 2040, which focuses on quality of life and investment in human capital.
