Cyber Security and Forensics programme focusses on two key aspects of Cyber Security: analysing and assessing risk to minimise them and Digital Forensics, which involves investigating and extracting digital information from various devices for legal evidential purposes. This programme has been designed with a high degree of relevance to the industry’s needs. Digital devices, including computers and mobile phones, play a pivotal role in our daily lives, impacting various industries such as communications, banking, engineering, information systems and AI technologies. With this reliance, the demand for enhanced cybersecurity and forensics has become more imperative. You’ll gain insights into security threats facing computer systems, the nature of stored information on digital devices, and the extraction processes. This programme is offered in affiliation with the University of Westminster (UoW), London, UK.
- Credit Values: 180 Credit Points for the Master of Science – Cyber Security and Forensics.
- Duration: 1 Year (3 Semesters) in Full-Time Mode of Study.
- Degree Awarding Body: After the successful completion of the program requirements, the students will be awarded the Award/Exit Certificates from the University of Westminster.
- Yearly Intakes: Two (September and January).
Academic Criteria:
1- Academic Criteria
Candidates can be admitted if they have one of the following:
- A minimum of a second-class Honours degree in a computing-related discipline or an equivalent qualification. If a bachelor’s degree does not have a strong computing element, then work experience and other qualifications may also be considered.
- Applicants with a Diploma/HND and significant appropriate/relevant work experience in the field (a minimum of six years experience and a minimum of three approved training courses) can apply after the prior approval.
2- English Requirements
IELTS (or equivalent):
- If your first language is not English, you should have an IELTS 6.5 with at least 6.5 in writing and no element below 6.0.
- Candidates who do not possess the required IELTS score can still enroll after completing the Muscat College Postgraduate Qualifying Programme (PQP
