The Bachelor of Computer Science (Computer Systems and Networking) with Honours combines strong theoretical knowledge with extensive practical industry experience through its unique 3u1i (Three Years at University, One Year in Industry) model. Students gain expertise in computer science fundamentals as well as specialized networking and systems topics such as Computer Networks, Network Programming, Network Management, Data Communication and Networking, Data & Network Security, Operating Systems, Distributed Computing, and Web Engineering.

The final year of the programme is dedicated to industry engagement. During this period, students complete their Undergraduate Project, one core course and two elective courses in the first semester, followed by Industrial Training in the second semester, which is conducted within an industry setting. This structure provides students with valuable hands-on experience and exposure to real-world professional environments, enhancing their employability and industry readiness upon graduation. This programme is offered in affiliation with the University of Malaysia Pahang Al- Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), Malaysia.

Credit Hours:

  • 123 Credit Hours for Bachelor of Computer Science (Computer Systems & Networking) with Honours.
  • 67 Credit Hours for Diploma of Computer Science (Computer Systems and Networking)

Award: 

  • Bachelor of Computer Science (Computer Systems & Networking) with Honours
  • Diploma of Computer Science (Computer Systems and Networking)

Duration:

  • 4 Years in Full-Time Mode of Study/ 6 Years in Part-Time Mode of Study for Bachelor with Honours
  • 2 Years in Full-Time Mode of Study/ 3 Years in Part-Time Mode of Study for Diploma

Degree Awarding Body: After the successful completion of the program requirements, the students will be awarded the Award Certificates from Muscat College which is validated by the University of Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah.

Entry Requirements

Student Must fulfill the following conditions:
Year 1 intake:

  1. Students who have successfully completed the General Education Diploma (Class 12), or obtained equivalent certificates approved by the Ministry of Education in Oman.
  2.  Pass Muscat College General Foundation Programme (GFP) or equivalent. Alternatively, a score of 60% and above in the Muscat College Placement Test in each of the components would make the student eligible for exemption from the GFP.

Year 3 intake:

  • Pass the Higher Education Diploma in Computer Science or related field.

Note: Students who are sponsored by the Ministry of Higher Education (MoE) should fulfill the entry requirements specified by the MoE.
